Phil's interest in art began when he took a high school art course. His art career began with paintings and after graduate school he moved on to sculpting. His dream to visit Italy became a reality when he took a marble sculpting course in Pietrasanta Italy. Phil has since created several marble pieces.
Eventually, Phil took an engraving course. He now designs custom traditional/contemporary jewelry pieces in gold or sterling silver. The engraved pieces reflect Plains Indian scenes and some of the custom designs have diamonds, semi precious stones or elk teeth (used in Crow traditional accessories).
After decades of teaching courses from Elementary to College levels, Phil now dedicates his time to art.
